Michele J. King
Owner-Founder & Principal Consultant
Michele graduated with a degree in Business and began her career in human resources when she joined the South Carolina Governor’s Office in 1993. Years later in 2001, Michele returned to her hometown of Charlotte to work for the family business. Although often self-identified as a driver and workaholic, Michele enjoys life’s simple pleasures - road trips with her husband and sharing laughs with her two daughters. Fascinated by other cultures and people, she loves to travel. When there’s free time, you’ll find her tying up loose ends, gardening, or creating a culinary sensation to the background strains of Schubert, Vivaldi or barking dogs.
Michele is a creative thinker and possesses over 20 years of expertise in human resources, management, leadership, and training with experience creating innovative systems, products, and services for state and local government, small business and non-profits across a variety of industry sectors. She has specialized expertise in the areas of job analysis, development of salary administration and broad-banding, competency development, organizational development, and strategic planning, employment practice risk, performance management, managerial communications, strategic human resource management, and training. Michele’s insight helps her clients find optimal business solutions that meet specific needs and objectives.
Michele holds both the SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) designation from HRCI and SCP (Senior Certified Professional) from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). She is actively involved in several professional and non-profit organizations including the Apprentice Academy High School of NC and Union Symphony. Michele previously served as a Board member for the Carolinas Association of General Contractors in Charlotte (CAGC) from 2012 to 2016.
